Commercial floors need
different care by surface type
LVT vinyl doesn’t need the same cleaning as ceramic tile. Polished concrete doesn’t need mopping like marble. Laminate cannot handle excess water. Using the wrong product or method on a commercial floor accelerates its wear, creates slip hazards, or permanently damages the surface.
Service Rafia trains its teams to identify each floor type and use the right product and equipment — auto-scrubber for large areas, single-disc machine for delicate zones, pH-neutral products for sensitive surfaces.

Vinyl (VCT & LVT)
Dry sweep + auto-scrubber with pH-neutral product. Application of a protective finish coat (gloss or matte) to your preference. Recommended frequency: daily to weekly.
Ceramic & tile
Sweeping + auto-scrubber or microfibre mop. Grout line scrubbing. Full disinfection for food service or medical spaces. No soap film residue.
Polished concrete & epoxy
Mechanical sweeping + auto-scrubber with neutral solution. Application of protective or anti-slip coating based on use. Periodic degreasing for food production or warehouse zones.
Marble & natural stone
Strictly pH-neutral product — no acid whatsoever, no citric or vinegar-based cleaners. Gentle low-speed single-disc cleaning. Regular protection to preserve shine and prevent micro-wear.
Wood & laminate
Dry sweep + lightly dampened microfibre mop — never soaking wet. Wood-specific product to preserve the finish. Prevents water infiltration at joints and board swelling.
Large areas — mechanized
Warehouses, retail floors, long corridors — ride-on auto-scrubber for fast, uniform washing over large areas. Clean result in less time, with no demarcation lines.

Routine maintenance
Dry sweep, damp wash with auto-scrubber or microfibre mop. Keeps floors clean and hygienic on a daily basis. Included in all our commercial maintenance contracts.
Interim maintenance
Deep wash with single-disc machine, treatment of worn areas, ceramic grout scrubbing, protective product reapplication as needed.
Restoration

What’s the difference between floor maintenance and stripping/waxing?
Regular maintenance is daily, weekly, or monthly washing to keep a floor clean and hygienic. Floor stripping & waxing is a periodic restoration — stripping old wax layers and applying new ones. The two complement each other.
How often should office or retail floors be maintained?
Depends on traffic volume: daily sweep + wash 2-3×/week for a restaurant or busy retail, weekly for a moderate-traffic office. We propose a tailored frequency in our quote.
What products do you use on marble and sensitive surfaces?
Strictly pH-neutral products — no acid whatsoever (no citric, vinegar, or bleach). Marble, limestone, and travertine are permanently damaged by acidic products. Our teams are trained to identify each surface before intervening.
Do you work outside business hours?
Yes — available evenings, nights, and weekends. Most of our commercial contracts include after-hours service so your teams arrive to clean floors every morning.
